Welcome to Your Care Rating

Your Care Rating gives residents living within a care home and their family members and friends the opportunity to provide views and feedback via two independent, confidential and standardised surveys. Care providers can choose whether to conduct both the residents and the family and friends’ surveys, or just one of them.

The surveys are conducted by the leading market research organisation Ipsos MORI on behalf of care home providers. It covers care homes that primarily serve older people (aged 65+). However, where younger adults live in such care homes, they are also included. The surveys cover England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The questionnaires cover a wide range of issues including staff and care, home comforts, and quality of life. 

The purpose of Your Care Rating is to:

• Give care home residents a voice
• Give the family and friends of care home residents the chance to provide views
• Promote continuous quality improvement in the care sector
• Provide an authoritative source of information for existing and prospective residents, their families, and other stakeholders
